Basanta Adventure Treks & Expeditions (BATE) was originally founded in 1995 and has been successfully organizing adventure tours and treks in various regions of Nepal including Mt. Everest, Annapurna, Langtang, Kanchejunga, Dhaulagiri, Makalu and restricted treks into the areas of Dolpo, Mustang, Manaslu. Mountaineering expeditions to the trekking peaks (above 6000m) such as Island Peak, Mera Peak, and Pokalde Peak, have also been organized to the full satisfaction of our clients.
We offer the option of either Tea House and/or fully organized camping treks and cater as per the needs of our valued clients. In order to provide the best service and to maintain the highest possible service standards, we spend a considerable amount of time and energy in thoroughly researching, planning and implementing every trek and expeditions. Therefore, we also package tours and treks tailor-made as per the request of our clients.
Besides Nepal, we also specialize in organizing treks/tours excursions to Tibet 'THE ROOF OF THE WORLD.' This mysterious, enchanting land also offers access to Mt. Everest or Chomolongma as the Tibetans call it-- some of the world's deepest gorges and the world's second largest nature preserve. Tibet is also famous for its man-made wonders such as the awe-inspiring Potala Palace World Heritage site and one of the most sacred mountains like Mt. Kailash and lakes in the world.
For the privileged, discerning travelers we also arrange customized tours to the former Kingdom of Sikkim now one of the northeast states of India and tours to the land of the Thunder Dragon, the remote Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan.
All the services and products of BATE are based and designed to promote Eco-Tourism.
Basanta Adventure Treks & Expeditions has also been running a successful volunteer placement program representing Oyster Worldwide (formerly Changing Worlds) of the UK. Our carefully selected volunteers from the UK have been teaching in government community schools and private schools in Kathmandu and nearby villages. Currently, we have also started to facilitate an Art project at the Tibetan Refugee Reception Centre in Kathmandu.
