Druk Yul, the Dragon Kingdom is sandwiched between India and the Tibetan region of China. It is a unique and exotic tourist destination. The tiny Kingdom with the area of 46,500sq/km and population of 0.75 million is fiercely independent with a tradition and culture that are protected with great pride. The countrys' physical beauty begins with the tropical forest in the south and forest of rhododendron and magnolia in the central part. In the north is the high summer pastures of the indigenous Yak and security guard of the gleaming white Himalayan Peaks. The Bhutan Government has implemented a policy of restricting tourism by permitting only 2500 tourists a year. Therefore, Bhutan is still largely untouched and it offers lots of opportunities to the visitors to explore the natural beauty of this land and Buddhist culture and religion.
