Masheer Fishing on the Narayani River
7 nights / 8 Days

Nepal bags beautiful lakes and rivers that prove to be good fishing ground for the angling enthusiast. Approximately 118 varieties of fish are found in Nepal. The popular fishing spots are Karnali, Babai, Masheer valley in the Royal Bardia National Park, Chitwan, Dolalghat and lakes of Pokhara. The best season to go for fishing is before or after monsoon i.e. from February till April and from October till November when fishes go upstream for spawning and consume less food. Fishing can be organised enjoying camping and Rafting in wilderness or spending in Lodge with additional Jungle activities in Chitwan National park. There are several Jungle Lodge in Chitwan National Park. We can organised Fishing Trips as per the clients requirement and interest.

Fishing in Narayani River:

01. Narayani River: 

This River is formed by the meeting of 7 rivers. This perennial and torrential river originates from the southern slope of the Himalayas. It has seven  tributaries  such as the Kali Gandaki, Budi Gandaki, Trisuli, Marsyangdi, and the Madi and Seti rivers. The pH ranges from 6.7 to 7.5, water temperature from 18.0 to 28.5˚C, during March to April. The river is very rich fish fauna; 102 species of fish have been recorded- to name a few:

Good fishing spots

a. Tribveni section of the Narayani -  this spot about 200 to 250 kms south-west from  Kathmandu, on the way to Lumbini.
b. Weight of Masheer as per previous record   -  weight of the Masheer, from 1 kg to 12 kg  and more

01.  Arrive Kathmandu – transfer to hotel – O/N Hotel.

02.  Free day for preparations/briefing – O/N Hotel.

03.  Early breakfast and drive to Gaighat – 128 km takes about 5 hours – after briefing start Rafting/fishing. Lunch will on the banks of the river continue fishing – Dinner & O/N Camp

04.  Breakfast in camp, then start fishing – either by campsite or on raft – depending on the decision of the members. Lunch – continue fishing. Dinner & O/N Camp

05. Breakfast in camp, then start fishing – either by campsite or on raft – depending on the decision of the members. Lunch – continue fishing. Dinner & O/N Camp

NOTE:  This fishing trip will be liable to continue down the main river of the Narayani,  through the town of Narayangadh to Triveni, joins three rivers (one of the holy sites for Hindus). The distance from Kathmandu to Triveni is about 236 km. The river narayani river flow right through the Chitwan National park. As we go rafting down the river we shall enter the Royal Chitwan Park and the trip will be become more interesting. There will be two rafts and one canoe (kayak). One   raft for the members, one for carrying food supply, staff etc. The canoe for entangling the lines in case the fishing lines get entangled. October is the best season.
