Tibet - usually popular for having the world’s highest plateau is also known as the “Roof of the World" as the average height of the whole region is more than 4,000 meters (16,500ft.) above sea level. It lies on Tibet Plateau of the southwest border of China. The highest peak of Tibet, also the highest in Himalayas and in the whole world, is the Everest Peak, which is as high as 8,846.27 meters above sea level.

Till today, Tibet still remains one of the most interesting, mysterious, enchanting, remote and underdeveloped parts of the world. Its transformation from a warring and aggressive to a peaceful, pious and gentlepeople by the influence of Buddhism, is very amazing. Its isolation nearly tills the second half of the twentieth century; its diverse climatic and geographical conditions strongly attract people of all types from historians, adventurers, pilgrims and so on.

Nearly all Tibetans follow Tibetan Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism was greatly influenced by Indian Buddhism in its early time, but after years of evolution, Tibetan Buddhism has developed its own distinctive qualities and practices.

Lhasa:
Capital of Lhasa and center of all religious practice takes place in Lhasa. There are two resident of King or Spiritual Head of Tibetan Holiness Dalai Lama is located in the Lhasa. Lhasa is rapidly changing specially after Lhasa is connected by Train with China main line. Potala Palace, Norbulinka Palance, Sera, Drepung and Jokhang are the important places to visit in Lhasa.

Shigatse:
Second biggest town after Lhasa, Resident of Tibetan`s second highest religious head is His Holiness Panchen Lama located in Shigatse.

Gyantse:
One of the oldest town historically very significant town approx 250km from Lhasa. Gyantse used to be the third largest town.

Tserdang:
Approx. 186km from Lhasa, to Gongakar Airport 87km. Tsedang city is one the fasting growing city in Tibet, Yumbulhakang and Samye monastery are the main attraction of Tserdang.

Holy Mount Kailash:
In the far western Himalayas lies a moonscape of wide, stone sprinkled valleys and boulder-strewn mountains. Out of the midst of this windswept plateau raises a geometrical vision of pure white-snow the mystical Kailash. Known as the “Precious Snow Jewel” the snow covered holy peak shines brightly as the holiest place of pilgrimage in the entire Indian subcontinent. For endless centuries Kailash has called pilgrims and mystics who endured great hardships to reach the holy mountain’s remote location and worship on its gem-like slopes.
