The Mardi Himal Trek is a relatively new trek and a hidden gem for the avid trekker – not many trekkers aware of this trek. Located within the Annapurna Region, the Mardi Himal Trek enjoys spectacular views of the Annapurna ranges, Mt. Machhapuchchhre, Mardi Himal (mountain) and Hiunchuli Mountains. The trek takes you through forests filled with the beautiful Rhododendron (national) flower of Nepal, the Jhinu hot springs, Ghandruk village and Mardi Himal Base Camp.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu: (1300m/4265ft)
Arrival in Kathmandu where you will be met and transferred to Hotel, just walking distance to any styles of good restaurants and shops. Our Representative will give you short briefing on hotel facilities and safety. Tonight we only have a short introduction to the area, just what you need to know before the main briefing tomorrow. Day 02: Sightseeing of World Heritage sites:
After breakfast, trek briefing will take place around 9 am. All aspects of gear and conditions are discussed to make sure you're fully prepared for the trip, and any last minute questions answered. After lunch we explore this medieval capital. We visit Boudhanath, also known as little Tibet. Then we visit Pasupatinath, holy temple of Hindu where cremation takes place by the holy river Bagmati. Later we visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Evening: welcome dinner hosted by Basanta Adventure. O/N in Hotel at Kathmandu. (BB)
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara: (820m/2690ft), 7 hrs, Lunch on the way:
With a morning weak up guide will pick you up and transfer to the tourist bus station and drive ( approximately ) seven hours with breaks) through the beautiful river view and Nepalese countryside to reach the Pokhara Lakeside and transfer to the hotel and rest of the time explore the surrounding lakeside areas. Day 04: Drive to Kande, trek to Deurali: (820m/2690ft), 4- 5 hrs. Lunch at Australian Camp (AP)
After breakfast you will drive to Kande, the trek initiation point. The route from Kande beginss easy with steep steps for approx. half an hour, trails is easy all the way to Australian camp (takes approx. for 2 hours ).You will have breath taking view of villages. Australian camp has plenty of beautiful lodges and the view of Annapurna south, Himchuli, Fishtail, Manaslu etc are awesome. After Lunch here and continue walk will take you to Pothana and the ACAP/TIMS check point, then up to Deurali. Deurali has only two lodges but they are nice and clean. This will take you about 2-3 hours walk from Australian camp. O/N at Lodge in Deurali (AP)
Day 05: Trek to Forest Camp: (2540m/8331ft), 5-6 hrs. Lunch at Forest Camp (AP)
There is a right turn in Deurali signposted “Forest Camp” the trail is mostly inside the green forests of oak, maple, hemlock and rhododendron, at first up then undulating on the top of a ridge, there is a section just over half way where the trail drops steeply and then slowly gains height and then back onto the ridge and into Forest camp. The section includes some ups and downs and takes about 5 – 6 hours to reach Forest Camp, a small village with few guest houses. Forest camp is known as Kokar among local people. Day 06: Trek to Low Camp: (3035m/9955ft), 4 hrs. Lunch at Low Camp (AP)
After breakfast, you will trek through the dense forest. Vegetation changes gradually at the higher elevation and you will find forest of Rhododendron trees. This is another pleasant day, walk in the pristine forest enjoying the nature. The trail is steep in the beginning and later becomes easier. We will have some random views of snowy Himalayan peaks. The views of Machhapuchhre peak are superb from Low Camp. This is very humble village with only couple of lodges will be providing us basic meals and accommodation. O/N at Lodge in Low Camp (AP).
Day 07: Trek to High Camp: (3590m/11775ft), 4 hrs. Lunch at High Camp (AP)
You have another pleasant walking day with stunning close-up views of Himalayas in front of you. As you climb higher the trail becomes wider and open as there is no forest anymore. The trail continues through high grasslands with occasional Rhododendron trees. There is an ample chance of spotting the beautiful bird called Himalayan Monal; also known as the Impedance Monal, Impeyan pheasant and Danphe. This is a colorful Himalayan bird represented and it is the national bird of Nepal. Finally, you will arrive to High Camp to spend a night here. O/N at Lodge in High Camp (AP).
Day 08: Hike to Upper View Point, back to High Camp: (4200m/13776ft), 6 hrs. Pack Lunch (AP)
We will wake up early in the morning before the sun rises. The plan is to watch sunrise over the Himalayas. We will then return back to lodge where we will be served with our breakfast. We have time to rest before we start hiking up to the upper view point for magnificent close-up view of Himalayan Peaks. The trail heading to Upper View Point is well marked through the grassland involves few steAP sections. In overall this is moderate walk, not too easy and not too challenging. In summer season this area is full of yaks and sheAP along with several yak herders’ huts. There are few narrow and steap trails required full attention and to watch each others for precaution. Day 09: Trek to Forest Camp: (2540m/8331ft), 4 hrs. Lunch at Low Camp (AP)
Today you will trek down to Forest Camp, stop for tea at Low Camp and continue trek down to Forest Camp. O/N at Lodge in Forest Camp (AP)
Day 10: Trek to Landruk: (1810m/5937ft), 6 hrs. Lunch at Deurali (AP)
Continue to trek down to Landurk. Today will be a shourt day. You will have your lunch at Landruk. At landruk you can have hot water shower and hotel also has the facility of mobile charge and wifi. O/N at Lodge in Landruk (AP)
Day 11: Trek to Ghandruk: (1970m/6462ft), 5hrs. Lunch at modi river (AP)
After an early morning breakfast at the lodge, you will trek slowly down hill to Landruk from where the trail descends all the way to Modi Khola (River). After crossing Modi Khola stream on a suspension bridge with a view of wild honey bee hives on the rocky cliff, from here the trail leads all the way up to a Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a big Gurung Settlement, this rich and well developed village is belong to ethnic community of Thakali and Gurung community. There is a local museum and Buddhist Monasteries for you to visit. O/N at Lodge in Ghandruk.
Day 12: Ghandruk to Pokhara: Lunch at Sauli bazaar (AP)
Today you have chance to see Annapurna South, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Himchuli etc. You will hike from Ghandruk to Nayapul. It is about 4 hours walk to reach Nayapul from there you will drive to Pokhara. This will take about 1.5 hrs. O/ N at hotel in Pokhara (AP)
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu, 7 hrs.
After breakfast, your Guide will pick you up, and then drive to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Holiday extension or transfer to airport for final departure:
Today either you’ll have your holiday extension for another tour or we will transfer you to airport for final departure flight.
