BATE is also specialized in organizing community work and volunteers placement for any skill and non-skill committed people willing to volunteer. Basant Bajracharya, Managing Director who is also a representative of Oyster Worldwide of United Kingdom and runs Gap year programme in Nepal. Basanta Bajracharya has experience of 10 years and is specialist in organizing community work and volunteers placement, he also coordinates Art Project at Tibetan Refugee center in Kathmandu. The placement location is inside and outside the Kathmandu nearby villages where people are still socially and economically living in very poor conditions. Volunteers work in schools contributing in various subjects such as helping in their English language skills and different extra curricular activities as per their skills.
Programs
Host Family:
The Nepalese host families with whom the volunteers will be living during their placement time are normally educated or at least one or two members of the family can speak English fluently. Bate selects friendly families and with good reputation giving emphasis to the family with some experience or familiar with western culture. The volunteers will be treated, as a member of the family. Volunteers will eat whatever the host family eats during their daily life. Volunteers will participate in all the festivities and major events with their respective family.
Cultural Trekking & Familiarization Trip:
This trekking is specially designed to help volunteers experience the local culture and Nepalese lifestyle of rural area with their host family. During the trek volunteers will stay in simple Nepalese house and eat Nepalese meal. Our trained Leader will explain in details about the culture and custom of Nepalese people and other necessary information required during their stay in Nepal. Familiarization trek will prepare volunteers mentally and physically; this will help them adjust much more comfortably with their host families.
Volunteer Work:
After returning from cultural trek, volunteer will be transferred to their village or placement site, introduce to the school and later join host family. Volunteers will teach in nearby schools. Volunteer will take 3-5 periods a day. Volunteers to teach mostly free classes using their own skill and ideas or following guideline given during the induction course, however some volunteers also teach the regular school syllabus follow regular terms as local teachers. Volunteers to receive weekends (Saturday and Sunday) off and any holidays per the school academic calendar.
School:
Carefully selected schools on the basis of their economic and social contribution towards the community. Our partner schools are located inside outside the Kathmandu valley. All schools are well experienced in handling oversea volunteers. Teachers and staffs are friendly. There is a coordinator teacher in every school assign to assist volunteers for any problems.
Bate will provide series of orientation to ensure smooth adjustment providing information about different aspect of their placement.

Provide any travel assistant. Bate provides optional recreational activities for volunteers such as Elephant Safari in Chitwan National Park, trekking, Rafting, escape to Nagarkot offering special discount applicable only for volunteers.
Outline itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival transfer to hotel
Day 02: Orientation and sightseeing of city.
Day 03: 8 days trekking begins in Annapurna region
Day 11: return to Kathmandu. O/N hotel
Day 12: Orientation and Language class
Day 13: transfer to village, introduce to school and host family.
Day 14: teaching begins.
