However, en route there is an excellent opportunity to stop in Dulikhel to admire the stunning views of the Himalayas! The Bhote Kosi is regarded as one of the best short white water rafting trips in the world. It is the steepest river that is rafted in Nepal, with continuous rapid action making this river a full-on commitment and a huge adrenaline rush. This is an ideal trip for those wanting a short but intense and thrilling rafting trip. Itinerary
Day 1

Drive from Kathmandu to Bhote Koshi and Rafting Preparation, Drive: Approximately 3 to 4 Hours, Overnight: Tented Camp near Bhote Koshi

Depart Kathmandu in the morning and drive northeast towards Sindhupalchok, passing terraced hills, rural settlements, forests, and river valleys. On arrival near the Bhote Koshi, settle into the riverside camp and prepare for rafting.

Your river guide will provide an equipment and safety briefing covering helmets, life jackets, paddle commands, white water swimming, and basic rescue procedures. If time and river conditions allow, complete a short introductory rafting session before returning to camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2

Full-Day Bhote Koshi White Water Rafting, Rafting: Approximately 3 to 4 Hours, River Grade: Grade IV to V, Overnight: Tented Camp near Bhote Koshi

After breakfast, the guide checks the river conditions and selects the most suitable rafting section. Once the safety equipment is prepared, begin the main rafting session through Bhote Koshi’s fast and closely spaced rapids.

Work together as a team while following paddle commands through technical sections, waves, rocks, and changing currents. Safety kayak support is provided where required. After approximately three to four hours on the river, return to camp and enjoy the evening beside the Bhote Koshi.

Day 3

Final Rafting Session and Drive Back to Kathmandu, Rafting: Approximately 2 to 3 Hours, Drive: Approximately 3 to 4 Hours, Trip Ends: Kathmandu

After breakfast, prepare for the final rafting session. Depending on water levels and river conditions, the guide selects an appropriate section for another exciting run through Bhote Koshi’s rapids.

After approximately two to three hours of rafting, reach the final take-out point, change into dry clothes, and prepare for the return journey. Drive back through the hills and valleys of Sindhupalchok to Kathmandu, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
