Trip Summary:

Annapurna Panorama, also known as Poon Hill Trek, is one of the finest short treks in Nepal. This introductory trek in the Annapurna region unfolds majestic views of some of the most beautiful mountains in the region. We follow one of the well-known routes through lust forests and delightful Himalayan settlements of diverse ethnic groups. The panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Machhapuchhare (699.m), Manaslu (8157m), and other mountains along the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki gorge from Poon Hill are stunning.

Before embarking on the trek we begin with a warm welcome in Kathmandu with a quick safety briefing followed by a comprehensive trip briefing the next day where our guide will also be introduced and any last minute questions entertained.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu: 1300m/4265ft:
Arrival in Kathmandu greeted by Basanta Adventure representative and transferred to Hotel which is usually a walking distance to any good restaurants and shops. We will be given a short briefing on hotel facilities and safety as well as a short introduction to the area.  Next day there will be a comprehensive trip briefing. O/N in Hotel at Kathmandu (BB)

Day 02: Half day sightseeing of Baudhanath and Pashupatinath:
After breakfast, trek briefing will take place around 9 am. All aspects of gear and conditions are discussed to make sure you are fully prepared for the trip, introduce guide and any last-minute questions would be answered. We then visit Boudhanath, also known as little Tibet. Then we visit Pasupatinath one of the revered holy temple of the Hindus, this temple is also known for its cremation ceremonies that take place next to the holy river Bagmati. Day 03: Drive to Pokhara: (820m/2690ft), 7 hrs:
In the morning guide will pick us up and transfer us to the tourist bus station and drive about seven hours along a beautiful river & beautiful views of the Nepalese countryside. Once we reach Pokhara we transfer to the hotel and for the remaining hours we can freely tour around Pokhara lakeside or rest for the day. O/N at Hotel in Pokhara (BB)

Day 04: Trek to Tirkhedhunga: (1540m/5052), 5 – 6 hrs:
Next morning we drive to Nayapul our trek initiation point.  It is a one-hour drive from Pokhara to Nayapul situated along the Modi River. We will have a five-hour trek to Tirkhedhunga. Whilst walking towards Tikhedhunga along the banks of a beautiful river we can see various birds and different types of flora. O/N at Lodge in Tirkhedhunga (EP)

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani: (2820m/9252ft), 6 hrs:
The trail continues to climb up on a stone staircase through Oak forests with sprawling rhododendron towards Ghorepani. Ghorepani is one of the most popular villages along Annapurna circuit. Many trekkers who do not trek the whole circuit visit Ghorepani to view the magnificent sight of the Himalayan peaks. Most of the people in this village are Magars & Gurungs. Day 06: Early morning in Poon hill (90 minutes) then trek to Tadapani: (2590m/8497ft), 5 hrs:
This morning we climb up to Poon hill which takes 90 minutes of hiking at your own pace though the rhododendron forest. Poonhill sunrise viewing draws people in from around the world. It is a great viewpoint from where we'll be able to enjoy wonderful panoramic views of Mustang and Pokhara valley as well as more than 20 highest mountains. After the magnificent view we will walk through easy trails. This day walking is pleasant as we cross through rhododendron forests and beautiful view of Annapurna south. Day 07: Trek to Chomrong: (3210m/10531ft), 6 hrs:
Chomrong is the junction of all the trails leading up to the Annapurna Sanctuary. The village offers you a unique close-up view of Mount Annapurna South (7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m), our guide will organize a prayer and offer Lungta (Prayer flags) for good health and happiness for all the trekkers. Note: Offer Lungta or prayer flags (printed prayer on flags for the peace and good health/happiness) together with our Guide. Offering prayer flags in high passes and sacred sites is believed to bring good fortune and long life in Buddhist culture.

Day 08: Trek to Ghandruk: (1940m/6365ft), 5 – 6 hrs:
We then trek to Ghandruk. Some parts of the trail are slippery during December and January due to snow however normally they are in perfect condition. We trek through Jhinu danda, bidge and take trail towards Ghandruk. Ghandruk is a very beautiful traditional large Gurung village located above Modi Khola (river). This place offers excellent views of Annapurna South, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail). There are several hotels and tea houses here. O/N at Lodge in Ghandruk (EP)

Day 09: Trek to Dhampus: (1640m/5381ft), 7 – 8 hrs:
Next, we continue with our trek after breakfast. We start moving towards Langdruk which will take 4 hours of trekking and after that we head further downhill to Dhampus which takes another 4 hours. This will be the last night with our trekking crew except trekking Guide, this is best time to tip the staff (not compulsory but it’s customary), an impromptus little ceremony and a little party time with their gorgeous smiles. Try local drink called “Rakshi”, please be aware it may not be to your liking the taste is very strong. O/N at Lodge in Dhampus (EP)

Day 10: Trek to Phedi. Drive to Pokhara: (820m/2690ft), 2 – 3 hrs:  
This day we will trek down to the Modi Khola and from here it is an easy and pleasant walk along the river bank to Birethanti. We walk a short distance to the road headed to Nayapul, where we are picked up by our transport and driven back to Pokhara. The journey by road takes approximately 30 minutes and we arrive in Pokhara by noon, on time to recoup ourselves in the hotel before the flight back to Kathmandu. O/N at Hotel in Pokhara (BB)

Day 11: Fly back to Kathmandu:
Today after breakfast we will drive to the airport for our flight back to Kathmandu. Upon reaching Kathmandu we will be transferred to our hotel.  You have free time for the rest of the day.  O/N at Hotel in Kathmandu (BB)

Day 12: Holiday extension or transfer to airport for final departure:
Today holiday extension for another tour or transfer you to the airport for final departure. Tour concludes.
